MT. PLEASANT, Sanpete County - Alvin Levi Coates, 51, 583 E. 1st South, died Saturday 5:45 p.m. in a Mt. Pleasant hospital of a heart ailment.
Born Nov. 5, 1910, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of John Alma and Janie Elizabeth Shelley Coates.
Married Melba Elizabeth Tidwell, Sept. 6, 1934, in Manti.
Educated in Mt. Pleasant schools. Member of the fourth quorum of elders and served eight years as a counselor in the Mt. Pleasant First Ward Sunday School, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Employed as a carpenter.
Survivors: widow, three sons, Leland Alvin, Salt Lake City; Bryce Gordon and Dennis A., Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin, Mt. Pleasant; Vearl, Fairview; mother, Mountianville, Sanpete County.
Funeral services Tuesday 1 p.m. in the First-Fourth LDS Ward Chapel.
Friends call at the family residence Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of services.
Burial, Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
