Eda Lou Albritton, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 9:20 p.m. in Bixby, Okla., after being diagnosed with cancer one year ago. Eda was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Everton, Ark., daughter of the late Cletus and Eunice Stovall Harris. She graduated from Bruno High School. Eda was awarded a scholarship to Draughn's Business School in Springfield, Mo., where she majored in Finance. She married Denver Dale Albritton in 1955, at Harrison, Ark. She and her husband, Dale were owners and operators of Western Sizzlin Steak Houses from 1977, until Dale's death in 1998. She was an active member of Forest Park Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Eda was preceded in death by infant twin daughters; and two brothers, G.C. Harris and Howard Harris. Survivors include her son, Larry Albritton and wife, Mary, of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Teresa Berry and husband, David, of Bixby, Okla.; grandchildren, Aaron Albritton, of St. Louis, Mo., Matthew Albritton, of Fort Worth, Ryan Berry and McKenzie Berry, both of Bixby; two sisters, Clara Ingram and husband, Bob and Mary Sue Scrivner and husband, Kenneth, all of Nixa, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Harris, of Yellville, Ark. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. in Forest Park Baptist Church with Bro. Nick Garland officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. The family request that memorial contributions be made in care the mortuary to St. Francis Hospice in Tulsa, Okla.
