The father, Frank Dubay, along with sons Edward, and probably Levi and William were working with dynamite on a well on the farm. The dynamite went off and killed Edward. When they took him up to the house, Mary Jacques Dubay (Edward's mother), went into early labor for Emma Dubay. Mary died during child birth. The baby was set aside when she was delivered as dead. Someone saw her move and they put her in the oven. They had to stay up to watch her because if the oven got to warm she'd bake. She weighed two pounds, her head could fit in a tea cup and her mothers ring could go all the way up to her shoulder.
