Herbert G. Templin, age 76, of Maryville, passed away March 4, 2006 at his residence. He was a former member of First Baptist Church, Alcoa and a current member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church where he was active in the church choir. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force Reserve Center.


Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Bessie Templin; sisters, Muriel, Elaine, Madge; brother, Charles. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Special heartfelt thanks to Myra and Steve Lawhon, Blount Memorial Hospice and Dr. Siddiqui for their wonderful care.


Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. Templin; Children, Lela and husband Tate Brown, Sharen and husband Dwain Coppenger, Karen and husband Cliff Tucker, Myra and husband Steve Lawhon, Bruce and wife Lora Templin. Grandchildren, Megan Brown, Annie Brown, Chris Coppenger, Amy Coppenger, Phillip Tucker, Sara Tucker, Josh Lawhon, Jon Lawhon, Nathan, Brittney, Jacob and Caleb Templin. Sisters, Mildred McCloud, Faye Zeigler, Shirley White. Brothers, Melvin and Travis Templin.


Funeral Service 3 P.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in the Mausoleum chapel of Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Alcoa Highway, Alcoa, TN 37801. Rev. Glenn Cummings and Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 1918 Madison Avenue, Maryville, TN 37804 or the charity of your choice. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Chapel and Memorial Gardens.
