Konx-Merle J.Alden,60 of Cranberry,employed as a machinist at the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co.in Franklin,died at 1:30pm.Sunday in Oil City Hosp.after a short illness.Born Aug.17,1916,Belmar,venango Co.,son of George and Melda mong Alden.He and the former Helen Bell were married Sept.24,1949.She survives.Mr.Alden was member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church.He had worked at CPT for the past 21yrs.Survivng two sons;Eugene and Robert Alden,and a dau.,Janet Alden all at home;sister,Mrs.Dorothy Overholt of Warren,Ohio;his twin brother,Earl O.Alden of Cranberry.Also surviving are his stepmother,Mrs.Winnie Bell Alden of Cranberry,Stepbrother,Carl Bell of Elmira,N.Y.and Mont and Wm.Bell of Cranberry;stepsister Mrs.Carl (Lois)Shaner of Cranberry and Mrs.Wayne(Jane)Kenemuth of Cranberry,and a number of nieces and nephews.
Rev.Darrell Knopp,pastor of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church,will officiating.
