Daniel was born March 1870 in Buffalo, New York to the parents of Amandon and his wife Melvina Buskirk Baker. He married his wife Mary Dehn at the age of twenty. His wife parents Michael Dehn and Mary Tauscher Dehn both born and immigrated to New York from Germany. Her parents both immigrated at a very early age. Record provided off Mary's death Certificate. Daniel outlived his wife Mary by 30 plus years.

Passed January 1942 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. Family sent his body to be buried in the John Lyman Cemetery in Potter County, Pennsylvania where many of his relatives are buried.

Together with his wife Mary Dehn they had four children, Earl, Leah E., Mildred and Harold Baker.

Daniel siblings consist of Hattie, Nellie E., Luther Strong, Emma Jane, Robert R., Louis B., John M., Sarah A., Henry and William Baker.
