Former Indiana Legislator, Dies
Salem, Ind., July 9, (Special) Mrs. Lewis C. Carter, former representative in the Indiana General Assembly from Washington and Orange counties, died early this morning in her home here. Surviving, besides the husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Alvis of New York, Mrs. Alvin Hinkle of Joplin, Mo., and Mrs. Thomas Grant of San Diego, Cal., and a son, Glenn Carter of Anderson. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with burial in Crown Hill cemetery.
