Glen L. Fitch, 87, died unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in New Sharon.
He was born June 5, 1923, in Orono, the son of Albert and Emma Leeson Fitch.
He married Evelyn Perkins on March 7, 1948, in Massachusetts. She died Nov. 8, 1994.
He served on the school board for the old New Sharon school.
He was a member of New Sharon Grange 238 for more than 70 years and attended the New Sharon Congregational Church for many years.
Glen was a dairy farmer from the 1940s to the 1960s and also plowed snow for Lester Brann in the 1950s. Glen drove a school bus for many years for New Sharon schools and later for SAD 9, retired in 1985.
He is survived by Lawrence and Joyce Perkins of Texas, Lloyd and Rosalie Perkins, Laura and Charlie Kenney, Leona and Dennis Carpentier, Glenda and Mark Raymond, all of Maine; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the New Sharon Village Cemetery. (Morning Sentinel 9/24/2010)
