Orland R. Gallup, 73, formerly of Jasper, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1992, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

He was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Canadaigua, Mich., to Howard and Abbie (Abling) Gallup. He married Mary Ely Oct. 14, 1940, in Wauseon, Ohio, and she died July 3, 1984.

Mr. Gallup was a resident of the Morenci area for most of his life. In 1976, he retired from the Lenawee County Road Commission after 20 years. He was also a farmer, and he attended Seneca Community Church.

He is survived by a son, David Gallup of Avon, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Marian) Frederick of Morenci and Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Zimmerman of Concord; two sisters, Jeanette Riley of Denver, Colo. and Peggy Potter of Kalamazoo; nine grandchildren and five great-grandsons.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday, 2 p.m., at the Eagle Funeral Home, Charles Fink Chapel, Morenci, the Rev. William Van Valkenburg officiating. Burial will be in Packard Cemetery. Visitation is today and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Foundation or Seneca Community Church.
