He was 26 years old. He entered the service on Sept. 20, 1944, and received his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He was sent overseas in March 1945. He was home on furlough just before going overseas, and was stationed on Okinawa, Japan for two months when he was killed. Born in Globe, Az., he lived there all his life, and attended Globe schools. Prior to entering the service, he was employed as an electrician at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co. He was prominent in union activities, and was an active member of the Woodmen of the World lodge. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Florence Smyers of Ice House Canyon in Globe; and a brother, Charles Davies of Globe.
