Ilah Maye Barnes, age 88, of Princeton, Texas, passed away June 21, 2009, in Princeton.

Ilah was born January 29, 1921, in Allen, Oklahoma, to Ben and Lottie (Boren) Rich.

She married Edward Eugene Barnes on November 6, 1937 in Westminster, Texas. Ilah was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Barnes of Princeton; daughters, Patsy Jean Foster and her husband, Joe of Dallas, Texas, Robbie Kay Davis and Glenda Beth Smith and her husband, Shawn of Princeton, Texas; son, Michael Richard Barnes of Plano, Texas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Spear of Princeton, Texas; brothers, H. B. Rich of Kingfisher, Oklahoma and R. V. Rich of Ft. Worth, Texas; and sister-in-law, Elnora Rich of McAllister, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Zella Lee Rich, Agnes Georgia Rich, and Hazel Heskett, one brother, J. C. Rich, and two grandchildren, Brenda Jean Barnes and Steven Glenn Ramay.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Robert Weiss officiating.

Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
