Ronald D. McDade Sr., 72, of Thomasboro died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born in Champaign, Il. to Sherman W. and Helen Marie Witt McDade. He married Dorothy Melchi on July 5, 1956, in Urbana, Il. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Nora McKinley of Urbana; one son, Ronald McDade Jr. of Fairmount; two brothers, Wesley McDade of Alabama and Richard McDade of Arcola; two sisters, Joanne Panepinto of Urbana and Jeannie Kay Campbell of Alabama; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
He was a firefighter, mail carrier and postmaster for Weldon Post Office where he retired.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
