Left Germany on August 14, 1846 on the ship York and arrived in Texas on October 20, 1846. May have sailed from Antwerp and arrived in either Galveston or Indianola. Immigrating to Texas with them were their children -- Peter, Dorothea and Heinrich and probably Maria's father. Also they could have arrived with a fourth child, a daughter, that died in Indianola while there were waiting to go to Fredericksburg.
