The funeral of Preston A. Coiner, who died at the home of his son, S.F. Coiner, in Charlottesville on Thursday, will be held from the Waynesboro Main Street Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. C.W. Brandt, on Monday, July 12, at eleven a.m.
Mr. Coiner, was a native of Augusta county and for a numer of years made his home in Waynesboro where he was born Jan. 12, 1854. He was eighty-three years of age.
Mr. Coiner was an active member of the Methodist church for a number of years and had many friends in and around Waynesboro.
He is survived by a daughter and five sons, Mrs. Mary L. Houff of Charleston, W.Va., Perry A. of Moscow, Samuel F. of Charlottesville, Ervin M. of Staunton, Holler W. of Newport News, and George P. Coiner of St. Louis. He also leaves a half-sister and two half-brothers, Mrs. Louis Bean of Waynesboro and Gaines and Herman of Washington; twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Coiner's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and his granddaughters, as flower-bearers. Interment will be in Thornrose cemetery, Staunton.
