Civil War Veteran. John C Aldrich Enlisted on April 18, 1861, and mustered on May 7, 1861, into Company K, 8th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry (Union). Enlistment Rank: Musician. Enlisted on October 7, 1861, and mustered on December 20, 1861, into Company D, 8th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry (Union). Appointed to Full Musician. Battles, Skirmishes, and Engagements: Siege of Port Hudson. Reenlisted and mustered on January 4, 1864; transferred on January 1, 1865, to Company A, 1st Veteran Battalion, 8th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry (Union). Killed In an affray with a citizen on March 27, 1865, at Natchez, Mississippi.
His Father applied for pension on October 15, 1890; application 476,706.
