Mrs. Norman C. Karr, 83, widow of the Rev. Norman C. Karr, passed away Wednesday, July 9, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willis Shepard, at Holly. The remains were taken to Lapeer and were at the Baird funeral home there until time for the funeral services at 2:30 p. m. Friday in the Monroe Street Methodist Church at Lapeer. Rev, Earl P. Sawyer, pastor, and Rev. E. D. Dimond, Flint, officiated. Burial
was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer.
Miss: Elizabeth Downs was born in Lapeer May 3, 1858, and was united in marriage with Mr. Karr October 20, 1878. They celebrated their golden wedding in Lapeer in
1928. Rev. Mr. Karr. who filled pulpits in many cities for 35 years, retired in 1922. Among the churches he
served were Shabbona, Bay Port, Watrousville, Marlette, Caro, Lapeer and others. Mrs. Karr was always active along with her husband in his ministry. Mr. Karr died April 17, 1936. Mrs. Karr is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. E. Smock, Hollywood, California, and Mrs. Shepard, Holly; three sons, Dr. Harrison Karr, professor of English in
the University of California, Van Nuys, California, Fred Karr, Troy, New York, and Lester G. Karr, Flint; a sister, Mrs. John Karr, Cass City; a half brother, Delbert
Mosher, Brown City. Those from Cass City who attended
the funeral Friday were Mrs. John Karr, Mr. and Mrs. R.
J. Knight, daughter, Miss Pauline, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reid.
