Eda F. Ellison, 91, of Shady Spring, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2003, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.

Born Feb. 11, 1912, at Abraham, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Emma C. Biars Smith.

Mrs. Ellison was a homemaker and a former assistant at the Abraham Post Office. She enjoyed quilting and listening to religious broadcasts on the radio. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Ellison; a sister; four brothers; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Redden and her husband, Okie, of Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Charles Ellison and wife, Lois, of Daniels and Glen Ellison and wife, Patsy, of Shady Spring; a sister, Golda Fox of Abraham; seven grandsons; seven great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose and Qu(e)senberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor John Wesley Richmond and Mr. Williams "Bill" Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in Meador Cemetery, Pluto.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
