Alfred Sidney Hadden was born January 13, 1813 in Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, Kentucky.

He married Julia Ann Hall October 1 1830 in Marshall, Clark, Illinois. Julia was born August 9 1813 Mount Sterling, Kentucky, the daughter of Andrew Hall and Mary Polly Dudgeon. Julia Ann died May 25 1847 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa Blockhouse Branch, Pottawattamie Iowa.

They had the following children; Julia Ann, Reuben, Alfred Sidney (who married Polly Almina Behunin), Hyrum, Elizabeth, Minerva Jane, Emily, Thomas Jefferson, Cecelia Jane, and David Hadden.

Alfred married Sarah Ann Carter (Mary Caroline Carter's sister) March 28 1847 in Winter Quarters, Douglas Nebraska.
They had the following children; Rachel, Louisa, William, Joseph,John Russell, Margaret Matilda, Arminda, Mary Ellen, Alfred Porter, James Reuben and Francis Hadden.

Alfred Hadden was living in Desert Lake Utah at the time of his death. He was living with his son William and daughter in law Annie Rhoades Hadden. According to accounts of the children and grand children of William Powell, Alfred is buried in the Desert Lake Cemetery next to Adelaide Hadden Powell and Baby Eva May Powell.
