Thomas J. Hale, 83, died at his residence in Placation Shores in Milam on Friday, March 22, 2007. He was born on May 24, 1923, in Cedar Grove, LA to Dorse T. "Dave" and Dalier M. Teat Hale. Mr. Hale was an operator at the Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur. He has lived in Milam, TX since 1984, and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his action during the war.

He is survived by his wife, Elma Jean Hale of Milam, TX, four daughters; Jackie Faulk of Houston, TX, Vivian Seamon and husband Eddie of Port Arthur, TX, Virginia Salsgiver of Port Arthur, TX, and Loretta Herrera and husband Mark of Houston, TX, one son, Richard Hale and wife Bonita of Willis, TX. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday at the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, TX 75948, (409)787-3331. Graveside Services will be held Monday, March 26, 2007, in the Brookland Cemetery, Haslam, TX, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
