Albert Karstaedt, 81, retired Meeme farmer, died Thursday at the Sheboygan Memorial hospital, following a lingering illness. In recent years he had resided with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Karstaedt of Osman.
He was born near Sheboygan in 1866 and in 1889 married Miss Augusta Stieghorst.
They located on a farm near Five Corners, in Eaton, and 49 years ago moved to a farm in Meeme. He was one of the founders and a member of the board of the Meeme Center Cemetery association. Mrs. Karstaedt died in 1919. Six children preceded him in death.
Survivors are a son, Arthur, of Osman, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Meiselwitz funeral home, Kiel, with burial in the Meeme Center cemetery.
The body may be viewed after Saturday noon at the funeral home.
