Mrs. Otto C. Karstaedt, 77 (photo above), of Rt. 1, Newton, died Tuesday morning at home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Merlin Huebschman will officiate and burial will be in Meeme Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Karstaedt, the former Ida Heckmann, was born Oct. 19, 1889, in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mary Lorfeld Heckmann. She attended Mineral Springs School and was married to Mr. Karstaedt Sept. 12, 1916. The couple farmed in the township until retiring in 1956. They observed their golden wedding Sept. 12.
Survivors include the husband, five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Verna) Oehldrich of Millersville, Mrs. Clarence (Almira) Free of Manitowoc, Mrs. Gilbert (Dorothy) Wenzel of Rib Lake, Mrs. Elmer (Olive) Koeppen of Rt. 1, Kiel, and Mrs. Jerome (Ruth) Csida of Reedsville; three sons, Milton of Cleveland, Clinton of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and Donald of Rt. 1, Newton; a brother, William, of Rt. 1, Sheboygan Falls; a sister, Mrs. William Voigt, of Cleveland; 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
