Clarissa was born in Soldier, Kansas Died in Alamosa, Colo.
Bio: She is the daughter of Robert and Jane Lloyd Anderson who lived on the farm one mile west and one half north of Soldier, pioneers in this county.

On Feb. 21, 1884, she married Geo. T. Tolin of Soldier. To this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. Her husband passed away Aug. 24, 1907. A daughter, Irene Capsey and son, John Case Tolin, have also preceded her in death.

On account of ill health she broke up her home in Soldier in 1933, and went to Holton with her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Klusmire, where she remained until a few weeks ago when she went to Colorado to spent the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Agnes Langston.

When a young girl she became a member of the Methodist church at soldier. She was active in the work of the church until ill health prevented her. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge at Soldier, and had never broken relationship with that order.

The passing of Clarissa Anderson Tolin, closes a chapter, so to speak, of the history of the community as she was the last of the members of the older Tolin families, that took such an active part in the early history of Soldier and in the support of the Methodist church here. Mrs. Tolin spent practically all her years in this community. She was devoted to her fine family, who became useful and influential citizens.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. church by the pastor, Geo. Engel. A short sketch of Mrs. Tolin's live was given by Mrs. Mickel The pall bearers were: Roy Tolin, Geo. Tolin, Logan Tolin, Leon Tolin, Ross Francis and Arthur Anderson, all nephews of the deceased.

She is survived by one son, Melvin Tolin, Lawnsdal, Ca., Two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Langston, Alamosa, Co.and Mrs. Gertrude Klusmire, Holton, Ks., two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Francis, Holton and Mrs Alice Fryberger, Charlo, Mont, and one brother, Joseph Anderson, Atchison, Kansas, besides many other relatives.
