Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1805 Goff Ave. in Eau Claire. Pastors John D. van Gorkom and Ralph Miller will officiate. Burial will immediately follow services in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, June 18, 2009, and at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Phyllis was born on Aug. 18, 1914, in Escanaba, Mich., to Henry and Gertrude (Haring) Sharp. She grew up in Marquette, Mich., and moved to Eau Claire in 1940. She was a piano instructor. On Aug. 22, 1946. Phyllis married Oscar Elof Carlson. Oscar passed away in 1951 from polio. Phyllis remained widowed for 33 years. On Nov. 10, 1984, she married Ivan Chamberlain. Phyllis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Larry Carlson of Crystal, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Eunice (Tom) Allison of Madison; a grandson, Mr. Timothy (Angela) Lawton; and two great-grandsons, Quinton and Zachary Lawton. She is further survived by two stepdaughters; two stepsons; and a number of step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Ivan Chamberlain; sisters, Marjory Douma and Dorothy Hampton.
