Philip Pepper DuTart, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 21, 2009.

He was a son of Philip Pepper DuTart, Sr. and Frances Johnson DuTart.

Mr. DuTart was employed by U.S. Customs for 39 years retiring as a Chief Inspector. He was also a veteran of the Naval Reserves, member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Life Member of Etiwan Masonic #95 and The French Huguenot Society.

He is survived by his wife, Nedra Fax DuTart; son, Philip P. DuTart, III and wife, Alice of Summerville; daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" DuTart Hughes of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Mary Ann Silver of Charleston, Georgette Livingston of Newberry, SC and Frances Condon of Palmyra, VA; six grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Abby, Winnie, C.J. and Gregory.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward DuTart; sister, Burness McCormack and a brother, James DuTart.

Interment was in Christ Episcopal Churchyard.
