Major League Baseball Player. The infielder spent four years with the Cincinnati Reds in 1941 and 1946-48 with four years in the military (1942-45). The right-handed hitter compiled a career batting average of .254. His best year was 1946, when he batted .289. After his playing days, he had a long career as a scout. He managed and coached in the minor leagues before becoming a Cleveland Indians scout in 1971. He then joined the Chicago Cubs as a scout in 1971 before becoming the Chicago-area representative for the Major League Scouting Bureau when it was formed in 1974.
