A longtime Hutchinson-area resident, he was employed by Republic Paperboard Co., Hutchinson. He belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson.
On May 3, 1974, he married Janice Lee Everhart at Hutchinson.
She survives. Other survivors include: three sons, Brandon, Edmond, Okla., Cody Lee and Dalton Dean, both of the home; a daughter; his mother, Hutchinson; two brothers, Alan, Hutchinson, and John, Bend, Ore.; a sister, Dawnetta Park, Wichita; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A parish rosary was held May 13 at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Funeral mass was held May 14 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Richard F. Stuchlik presiding. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ron Wells Memorial Fund for Children, in care of the mortuary.
