Shorb-Walters, 60, died May 26, 2003 at her residence. She was born January 5, 1943 in Iola, KS, the daughter of Robert H. and Maybelle J. Hunt Shorb. She was a graduate of Decanter Community High, Oberlin, KS. She had been a resident of Hutchinson most of her life. She worked as a CNA, HHA, and CMA for Golden Plains for 11 years. She married Ira "Bub" Walters on July 25, 1962. He died June 6, 2002.Survivors include a son, David Walters, Hutchinson, two daughters, Deborah Walters and Dawn and husband Darrick Oden, both of Hutchinson, two sisters, Julie McKinnis, Hutchinson, and Joan Brown, Raleigh, N.C., a nephew, Jason Shorb, two sister-in-laws, Jane Walters, Hutchinson and Chris Walters, South Hutchinson, a brother-in-law, Gary Walters, and six grandchildren, Jorden Oden, Amber Walters, Kayla Oden, Brandon Walters, Mariaha Oden, and Jaycee Shorb, an Uncle Gary Hunt and wife Sarah, Leakly, TX, one aunt, Marion Pachner, Loveland, CO, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Robert H. Shorb, Sr. and Maybelle H. Shorb, a son, Douglas A. Walters, and a brother, Robert H. Shorb, Jr.Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Friday at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Chaplain Fred Obold presiding. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-9PM Wednesday and Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 5-7pm Thursday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jan Walters Grandchildren Scholarship Fund and sent in care of the funeral home
