Employe Suddenly Expires in B ank

Strangulation, form the combined effects of asthma and a bad cold, caused the sudden death of Reed Gunn, 48, colored janitor for a local bank, as he was preparing to perform his regular duties Tuesday evening.

Mr. Gunn had arrived at the Grand Island National bank, where he was employed, about 7:30 in the evening. As he came into the building he complained of his feeling to one of the tellers who happened to be in at the time. He said he had a bad cold and felt all choked up from its effect and from the effect of asthma with which he had been bothered for some time. Attempting to reassure him, Mr. Harry Hee, the teller, told him to sit down and rest a few minutes and he would feel better. Something was said to the effect that he did not feel he would recover from the attack, as he took the offered chair. Shortly he fell to the floor, attracting the attention of Mr. Hee who summoned a physician and the stricken man's wife. Life was still present when the doctor arrived but became extinct within only a few minutes. Mrs. Gunn did not arrive until after her husband's death. Funeral arrangements had not been completed by noon Wednesday.
