John Wesley Bice, 65, of Dresden died at 6:05 a.m, Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital where he was admitted at 1:45 a.m. He was taken to the hospital in the Dresden American Legion ambulance and was suffering from a heart ailment.
He was born Jul 26, 1895, in Madison Twp., the son of Hamilton and Anna Elizabeth Lacy Bice. He was a farmer and had been employed for 16 years by the Gaylord Container Corporation.
Surviving are his widow, the former Gertrude E. King, four sons and one daughter, Lloyd, Edward, Calvin & Mrs. Dorothy King, all of Dresden and Carlos of Zanesville. 10 grandchildren: one brother, Charles Bice of Trinway Route 1; and one sister, Mrs. Dolly McLaughlin of Dresden.
He was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dresden Methodist Church, where he had been a member, with the Rev. James R. Maxwell officiating.
The body will be taken from the Baughman and Sons Funeral Home to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today
