Prominent Tuscarawas Woman Dies At 88
SUGARCREEK, April 10---Funeral services will be held here at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Edward Shepfer at 1:30 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. Mary E. Moomaw, 88, mother of a widely known Tuscarawas family, who died at the Shepfer home Tuesday. Mrs. Shepfer is a daughter.
Following services at the residence rites will be conducted at the Union church here with Rev. W. M. Young of New Philadelphia and Rev. Martin Krieger officiating. Burial will be at Ragersville.
Born near Wolf Station, daughter of Leonard and Sarah Hart, Mrs. Moomaw had lived her entire life in Tuscarawas county. Her husban died 45 years ago. Mrs. Moomaw moved here in 1904 and has live here since.
Surviving are six sons, David Moomaw of Stone Creek, Simon P., George H., Joseph M., Cyrus M. and Arthur E. Moomaw of Sugarcreek; four daughters, Mrs. Shepfer, Mrs. A. J. Rennecker of Smithville, Mrs. W. H. Wood of New Philadelphia and Mrs. A. T. Kinsley of Hartville.
