Emmett Ross Duncan, 75, father of Pamela Jo (Chuck) Duncan Kelly-Nicholasville and Wayne Ross (Karol) Duncan-Lexington, died quietly Monday, August 6, 2007 at his home on Hawthorne Drive. Born in Gallatin County on January 1, 1932 he was the son of the late Henry and Lutie Ockerman Duncan. Mr. Duncan graduated from Midway High School and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service having worked 30 years in Lexington. He was a Korean War Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Other surviving family members are five grandchildren, Travis and Trudi Duncan, Amanda, Chelsea andWilliam Kelly, three sisters, Viola Flora-Frankfort, Lida Spencer-Midway, Betty Hall-Lexington, a stepdaughter, Peggy Ann Cravens-Lexington and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel McGaughey and Hallie Crocker and two brothers, Howard and Leslie K. Duncan and a stepson, James Allen Canfield. Services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Stewart Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Thursday until time of service. Serving as casket bearers will be Kenneth Allen, MarkEllis, Rick, Travis Ross and Glenn Alvin Duncan, Kelly Nuhn and Jeff Parido.
