Born Aug. 23, 1925, in Cherry Creek, the son of the late Chauncey and Grace Morey Wilson. A Chautauqua County resident all of his life, he was a 1943 graduate of Cherry Creek High School, and attended Applied Arts and Science of Buffalo for two years. Fred was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy in the SEA BEES.
He was employed for 33 years as an electrician at Alleghany Ludlum and Al Tech Products in Dunkirk.
He attended First Baptist Church of Dunkirk.
Husband of nearly 63 years to Alice I White Wilson, whom he married June 23, 1946; father of Pricilla (Larry) Phillips of Jamestown, Nadine Wilson of Cassadaga, Natalie (Larry) Ball of Arkwright and the late Walter Wilson (1993); grandfather of 12 grandchildren including the late Adam Phillips; brother of Sally Schichtel of Brocton, Phedora Kraft of Maryland and the late Paul Wilson.
