He was the son of the late James Milton "Milt" and Annie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Abston. He was a well known Auto Parts Salesman for Preston Ropp, Interstate Auto Parts and Gillie Hyde Ford. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Kentucky National Guard. He was a member of the South Green Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Beau Abston, Nashville, TN and Kevin Abston and his wife, Alena; three grandchildren, Steven, Jason and Morgan, all of Goodlettsille, TN; one brother, Kenneth Abston and his wife, Jean; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (McRee) Houchens; Mrs. Jessie (Mary) Abney; Mrs. Willie (Ruby) Cloyd and Miss Sally Henry, all of Glasgow; three nieces and two nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Bill Abston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 1996, at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
