Harry J. Current
Harry J. CURRENT, 64, died at 12:45 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been admitted at 8 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Current, who resided five miles southwest of Rochester in the Reiter community, had been in failing health for three years.
Born Jan. 1, 1897, at Rockville, Ill., he was the son of Abraham and Anna RODERICK CURRENT. He was married Feb. 6, 1925, at Urbana-Champaign, Ill., to Dollie May HIGH of Danville. She survives.
Mr. Current retired in 1939 from an executive position with the Chicago Board of Trade and moved to the Reiter area, where he purchased a farm. He previously had lived in Danville, Ill.
He was a member of the Grace Methodist church, Rochester Masonic Lodge No. 79, Order of Eastern Star No. 70, Royal Arch Masons No. 90, South Bend Scottish Rite, Rochester Kiwanis club and served on the Fulton County Selective Service Board from 1945-51.
Surviving, besides the wife, are one brother, Alvah CURRENT, Covington, Ind.; one nephew and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. Ray MILLS officiating. The Masonic lodge also will perform its rites. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. The Eastern Star will perform memorial services at the funeral home Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.
