Anna-Lisa was a fascinating, complex, and interesting person who cared deeply for those who came into her life. She immigrated to the United States in 1948 and studied at the Wilfred Academy for Cosmetology in New York. She met her Marine husband of 53 years in New York. Together they traveled the world and raised his three children and their daughter. Upon their first retirement they settled in Brighton, MI, having grown to love the Howell-Brighton area. Anna-Lisa was a member of the Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Anna-Lisa is survived by her sons, John H. (Laurel) McDermott Jr. of Houghton Lake, MI and John (Randi) Roseburg of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Lillian Brady of Harrison, MI and Marylisa McDermott-Robbins of Verona, WI. In addition to her children, she loved and prayed nightly for her nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Helene McDermott; and her beloved husband, John H. McDermott Sr. Graveside services were held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
