Timothy F. Nolan, 51, of Springfield died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his home. He was born June 16, 1947, in Springfield, the son of James M. and Mary Agnes McGrath Nolan. He married Nancy M. Koehne in 1970. Mr. Nolan, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was Captain of the Springfield Fire Department, retiring in March 1998, after 29 years of service.
He was a graduate of Griffin High School, a member of St. Joseph's Church, Firefighters Local 37, Elk's Lodge 158, Knight's of Columbus, VFW and Eagle's Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, Seabee and Vietnam veteran.
Survivors: wife, Nancy; a daughter, Susan M. Nolan of Bradley; a son, Kevin Nolan of Springfield; two aunts; and several cousins.
Funeral Mass: St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Pat Render, CSV, officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
