In the 1820 Census for Floyd Town, Oneida Co., NY, Peter Cable lived two addresses from Henry Cable, who lived two addresses from "Bela" Kingsley. Peter was over age 45, living with his wife over age 45, and a younger woman.

Peter Cable was not listed with sons, George and Henry, in the "1835 State Census Index of the Town of Floyd, Oneida County, New York Online."

Illinois Ancestors.org - Warren County, p. 335:
An article about his grandson, William H. Cable, son of Henry and Olive Cable, states that "the Cable family originated in Germany, and "their great-grandfather emigrated to this county in the early part of the 17th century."

Thomas Hamilton Cable said in his Cable genealogy, "Cable Family," written in 1986, that "most of the early (Cable family) information comes from Hazel Kable Zimmerman of Mount Morris, IL. The American Family begins with records from the 1790 Census in Hudson County, NY, and traces back through the Lutheran church in Germany for seven generations.

"(We start with) two brothers, one spelled with "C," to which our Peter belongs, and the other spelled with "K," to which Hazel Kable belongs. Those with "C" moved west over a northerly route, settling in Eastern and Central New York, Warren Co., PA, Western and Central Illinois, then Iowa and Missouri. George Emery Cable, (son of George H., and) cousin of Hamilton B. Cable, lived in Harrisonville, MO. His grandfather was George Cable, and his great-grandfather was Peter Cable. Chauncey H. Cable, brother of Hamilton B., moved to Portland, OR. His son Milton became a doctor there. Those spelled with a "K" settled near Sunbury, PA, according to Hazel, the link between the families is Jasper or Casper Kable."
