Mr. Daney Ray Harmon, 63, of 1988 Flat Springs Road, Elk Park, N.C., died Tuesday morning, Feb. 26, 2002, at Watauga Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Avery County, to the late Dayton and Beulah Guy Harmon.

Mr. Harmon was a former truck driver for Land Transportation Company in Atlanta, Ga. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Borders Harmon; four sisters, one aunt, and one uncle. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Norman.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed Harmon, Rufus Harmon, Ray Harmon, Glenn Harmon and Ralph Harmon; and two sisters, Susie Dugger and Marie Blankenship.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the John Harmon Cemetery in the Whaley community in Avery County.
