Rocket Scientist. Member of German rocket team who helped Germany bomb London during World War II through the development of the V-2 Rocket, and then worked on the United States Apollo program which landed men on the moon. German expert in guided missiles during World War II. He emigrated with his family to the United States as a part of Operation Paperclip to begin work on rocketry at Fort Bliss, White Stands, and then at Huntsville, Alabama. During the Apollo Program, he was the Head of Vehicle Systems Engineering Branch, Structures and Mechanics Division, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
