Uncle Paul had a newspaper route at an early age and worked hard delivering them on his bicycle to his customers. When Paul was about ten he knocked out the electricity to a whole city block with he was experimenting and had a hard time explaining it to an electric company employee. At age twelve he invented the lathe; it's too bad that it had already been invented, patented and was commercially available. Paul mentioned going to a green for picnicing where there was a baseball scoreboard for posting scores that were being broadcast by radio. He was an excellent machinist and specialized in metal lathe work. He taught it during WW II in Memphis. Later he acquired Clyde's Carburetor Shop in Oklahoma City and ran it for many years. K-plugs that he invented were a success; he spent many hours in front of the TV checking them before boxing them up and making a shipment. Later as a hobby he worked in stained glass and shared them with the family. We will miss his his warm smile, sense of humor, and his rendition of "Cherries Are Ripe" that he used to sing in the morning to wake up visiting nieces and nephews.
