Vernon retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
He was a Life-time member of the 5th Ward Republican Club.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his son: Vernon E. Thorn, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter: Donna Thorn of Lebanon; his sons: Jacob Thorn of Highspire and Andrew Thorn of New Germantown; his twelve grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his sister: Helen Acri of Florida; and, his brother: Donald Thorn of Hershey.
Private Grave-side Services and Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
