Military Service Held For W. H. Jordan

Military funeral services for W. H. Jordan, 85, who passed away December 28 at his home in Los Angeles, California, were held from the Kuelbs chapel on Monday afternoon. The American Legion was in charge and the Woman's Relief Corps also attended in a body. The casket was wrapped with the American flag. The Rev. J. D. Lewellen delivered the sermon reading from both the Old and the New Testament and paying high tribute to the deceased who served to well his country and his generation. Mrs. William McPherson sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought". Mrs. McPherson and Mrs. Herbert W. Taylor sang the duet "In the Garden" and a quartet including these ladies, Dr. Taylor and Charles Cochrane sang "Nearer My God to Thee". Services were completed at the new cemetery where taps were sounded and three volleys fired. Pall bearers were E. C. Long, C. B. Fly, Charles Farrow, C. A. Thompson, J. M. Francisco and C. M. Erickson.
