For S. M. Bumgarner


Stanley M. Bumgarner, 83, a resident of the Davis area for the past 61 years, died Dec. 30 in the Hale's Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer and lived on west route, Davis.

He was born April 16, 1886, in Hamilton county, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Odd Fellow Lodge.

Funeral services were held Jan. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in the United Methodist church, Davis, with Rev. Jim House and Rev. Troy Pults officiating. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery with Bahner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were his grandsons – Billie Bob Beck of Lubbock, Tex., Larry Bumgarner and Jerry Bumgarner, both of Oklahoma City, Buddy Mulkey, Danny Bumgarner, and Rocky Lynn Bumgarner, all of Davis.

Bumgarner is survived by his wife, Jessie Bumgarner of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Mulkey and Mrs. Faye Beck, both of Davis; three sons, S. M. (Junior) Bumgarner of Davis, U. L. Bumgarner and Troy Bumgarner, both of Oklahoma City; four half-sisters, Mrs. Velma Culbreath of Wilson, Mrs. Vesta Cornelius of Randlett, Okla., Mrs. Winnie Morrow of Kilgore, Tex., and Mrs. Willie Smith of Mangum, Okla.; two half-brothers, Kenneth Pierce of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ted Pierce of Iowa Park, Tex.; 13 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
