John Wayne Smith, 72, of Waldport, Ore., died June 12, 2009 at his home.
He was born Aug. 10, 1936. He was raised in Utah with his two brothers and two sisters.
He then joined the U.S. Air Force and later married and had two sons. He worked in the aviation industry in five western states. After his retirement, he moved to Oregon.
He enjoyed square dancing, landscape gardening and photography.
