Amy Bell Rea was born in Spring Garden, Missouri to William Boyd and Margaret Jane (McFall)Rea. She married James Barney Rea on September 23, 1906. In the spring of 1917, she and her husband moved to western Kansas, settling in Rooks County where they farmed for 21 years. James Barney preceded her in death on Friday, April 15, 1938. After his death, Amy moved with her youngest children to Oregon, where her son, Paul David Rea had settled with his family. Amy was a life long Christian, attending the Glendale Baptist church in Miller County, Missouri and then the Albany Baptist church until her illness kept her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Edna Alice, brother, Floral Bell and grandsons Charles Homer Rea Jr. (1945) and Patrick Eugene Rea (1962)
She is survived by daughters Margaret White, and Mildred Brenton both of California. Maxine Harlan and Dee Sass, both of Albany. Sons Paul David, Wilbur, Elmer (Tom), Maurice and William who all live in the Willamette Valley as well as son Homer who lives in Nebraska. Amy had 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
