Dan Lee Crawford, 61, formerly of Belvidere, died August 14, 2003, of a sudden heart attack. Born Feb. 6, 1942, in Belvidere, the don of Darrel A. and Ruby (Engelsen) Crawford.

He attended Jacksonville School for the Blind, graduated from Belvidere High School and attended Northern Illinois University. Dan was employed by Belvidere Products before moving to Tennessee. His lifelong passion was horses, and he owned Estill Springs Arabians. He was an active member and past President of Estill Springs Lions Club.

Survivors include parents, Ruby and George Flemming of Belvidere; brother, Roger (Gloria) of Estill Springs; sisters, Alice (Hubert) Kays and Katie (Bill) Boughton of Belvidere; and Dennis (Margaret) Flemming of Mauston, WI. and Kay (Vic) Kern of Yukon, OK.; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Predeceased by father, Darrel Crawford.

A celebration of life service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 31, in Belvidere Community Building.
