US Congressman. He was admitted to New York State Bar in 1938 and opened a law practice in New York City, New York. From 1943 to 1944, he was the New York State Assistant Attorney General and served in the State Senate from 1945 to 1950. In 1953, he was elected as a Republican to represent first new York's 25th Congressional District, then the 24th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1953 to 1968. He became an Associate Justice of the New York Supreme Court in 1968 and served until 1972.
