Services for Jamie Carlton Holmes, 34, Cairo, are at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. Ellen Murphy will officiate and interment is in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo. Active pallbearers are Jerry Holmes, Travis Williams, William Joshua Cobb, Tyrus Craven Cobb, Ricky Barfield and Scott Young. Mr. Holmes died Aug. 30 in Climax. Born Aug. 2, 1970 in Albany, he was a student in a commercial driving course at Bainbridge College in Bainbridge. Survivors include his mother, Shan Humphries of Cairo; father and stepmother, John Carlton and Verba Holmes of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, John Terry and Lori Holmes of Dawson; sister, Stephanie Humphries of Cairo; niece, Brandi Leann Holmes; nephew, John Cory Holmes both of Dawson; stepsister, Candy Britt and husband, Otis; stepbrother and wife, Keary Britt and wife, Gabrielle; and his beloved pets, Jewel and Dillon.
