Eric Matthew Grimes, 36, a lifelong resident of Leesburg, died Nov. 13, 2007, in Sterling. Mr. Grimes was born in Leesburg on July 16, 1971, and attended Loudoun County Public Schools until graduation from Loudoun County in 1989.
He attended Radford University on a golf scholarship, graduating in 1993 with a sports medicine degree. Mr. Grimes was a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church and presently was working with Savvis in Sterling as a network engineer. He had a tremendous love for life, golf and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Robert E. "Bob" and Cathy E. Pletcher Grimes of Leesburg; his brother, Greg Grimes of Leesburg; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family received friends Nov. 16 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg and funeral services were held Nov. 17 at Leesburg Baptist Church with Rev. G. Reiff Lesher officiating. Interment followed in Leesburg Union Cemetery. Donations may be made to Leesburg Baptist Church.
