Ida was the daughter to Hyrum Fernelius Payne and Sylvia Mae Smith. She was the oldest of 7 children. Her siblings are Jay, Shirley, Erma, Ray, Erna Ellen, Hyrum "Gilbert". She married James Ray Stagner on November 21, 1941 (later divorced). They had 3 children together Sharlene, Carol & Bonnie. She then married John Edgar Gross on March 21, 1951 (later divorced). They had 3 children together John, Jack & Mark. She has 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. She was buried June 17th, 2009 at the Lakeview Memorial Estates Park in Bountiful, Utah.
